Trouble Shooting Standard Practices


Understanding the layout:

The layout of the troubleshooting section it segmented into vehicle type or product type, if the issue you are having related to the vehicle systems then troubleshooting will be located in the specific vehicle section, If the issue you are having related to the product you are working on then it will be located under that product in the troubleshooting library.


The layout of each issue encountered is as such:

Cross Traffic/BLIS - The section title groups related issues together

01 - BLIS light in mirror continuously illuminated - This section titles the headline issue encountered

Encountered Issue:  Light in mirror continuously showing (indicating vehicle in blind spot) - This section explains the issue

Diagnostics: BLIS sensors cleaned(did not improve) - BLIS sensors swapped from left to right( did not improve)  - harness inspected (found to have severed wire). - This section outlines steps taken to locate the issue and the step taken to identify it, we include steps taken even if they do not resolve the issue in order to give alternate ideas if your issue may include something else also.

Cause: When removing the tub and cutting the harness loom ties, wire was severed in the process causing a system error. - This section outlines the cause of the issue.

Fix: Severed wire in BLIS harness soldered and heat shrink applied. - This section outlines how the issue was resolved.
